The WSOP 2012 Main Event had total of 6,598 players registered for the 43rd Annual World Series of Poker 2012 Main Event. The total prize pool adds up to a little less than last years event at $62,021,200, with a first place prize of $8,527,982.

Antonio Esfandiari wins WSOP Big One for One Drop ($18,346,673) in the record breaking million dollar buy-in tournament. Sam Trickett was eliminated within 16 hands of being heads-up against The Magician, who has just made poker history.

Antonio Esfandiari is now in top position for all-time tournament winnings his live tournament winnings total more than $22,800,000. Esfandiari tweeted “This prize is MINE.” and posted a picture of the first place prize money.

Esfandiari now sits in first place on the poker all time money list as the most profitable poker player of all time, Phil Hellmuth also achieved his biggest cash of more than $2.6 million for his 4th place finish.

There has been some new light shed on the Pokerstars buying Full Tilt Poker rumor, Ray Bitar was arrested at JFK Airport for his indictment charges from Black Friday. The Full Tilt Poker founder has pleaded not guilty to the charges, and willingly turned himself in as part of the process of repaying players.

In an email Ray Bitar sent out to his Dublin staff he revealed that the “deal with PokerStars will very soon make our goal a reality” in repaying players and “PokerStars to guarantee all July salaries” for his staff.

According to the Associated Press the US Gov were working in conjunction with the the Irish authorities to have Ray Bitar extradited. Bitar could be sentenced up to 145 years in prison for charges of fraud.
