poker hall of fameWorld Series of Poker have announced two new members for the Poker Hall of Fame, Erik Seidel and Dan Harrington will now make up the 40 members in this elite group of poker ambassadors. The new members will be inducted in a ceremony just before the WSOP final table in November.

There are now 18 living members of the initial 40 members elected, only one or two new members are elected each year.

Eight poker players were nominated for this years Poker Hall of Fame which include Phil Ivey, Daniel Negreanu, Chris Ferguson, Barry Greenstein, Scotty Nguyen, Jennifer Harman, Linda Johnson and Tom McEvoy.

Phil Laak wins WSOPE eventPhil Laak has won his first WSOP bracelet in the opening event of the WSOPE, Laak has achieved almost everything in poker but was lacking a bracelet win. ippa championship tournamentThe International Poker Players Association championship tournament is going to be one of the biggest poker tournaments on the calender. The televised High-roller poker tournament has a buy-in of $250,000 and a prize pool of $12 million, the tournament is limited to a field of 48 players all competing for a first place prize of $5 million at the Monte Carlo Casino in December 2010.

So far the event has already attracted some of the High Stakes Poker pros including Phil Ivey, Tom Dwan, Tony G and Patrik Antonius.
