CarbonPoker have launched Anonymous Poker registration to their SNG selection in the lobby by simply removing the screen names from the registration page.

Players screen names are no longer shown until players are seated at the table for the start of the tournament, screen names will still be displayed during game play.

The new Anonymous Poker update hopes to prevent recreational poker players from being hunted by sharks. Some players use poker tools to hunt for soft competition and use the information to register for games they can beat.

It’ not quite the same as the Bovada Poker with Anonymous Poker tables where players are completely unaware of who their opponents are the entire game.

Anonymous Poker seems to be the trend for USA poker sites, while sites like the new Party Poker social software offers a social approach for recreational poker players.
