rawa hearing hr 707The (Restoration of America’s Wire Act) RAWA Hearing was held on March, 25th by the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism, Homeland Security, and Investigations.

Some of the speakers no doubt had Sheldon Adelson best interests at heart and were pro passing the bill to ban online gambling.

Particularly statements by Les Bernal and John Kindt were strongly opposed to all forms of internet gambling and would be in favor of the Federal government banning state gambling laws. Both seemed to have no real understanding on the topic and simply waffled off a fear mongering speech with no credible facts.

Opposing the restoration of the America’s Wire Act were Parry Aftab and Andy Moylan who stated that a prohibition of online gambling would open up the door to the Black Market. The bill would also impose on state rights that have already legalized and regulated online gambling with great success.

The partnership works for both parties as 888poker will get to be an official WSOP online satellite venue and included in ESPN footage of the event.

The WSOP will get sponsorship for their live reporting and content plus a gaming platform for the WSOP online bracelet and satellite tournaments.

wsop live coverage 2015There will be some major changes to the WSOP Live Coverage 2015, earlier this year PokerNews were dropped as the official live reporting team.

The World Series of Poker will handle all it’s own live reporting including final table live streaming of more than sixty scheduled bracelet events. According to Seth Palansky, WSOP Communications/PR Executive, there will be a capable team of 35 reporters handling the 2015 WSOP live updates.

For over a decade the PokerNews team handled the live reporting for each event with a shared traffic agreement with the WSOP and sponsorship from PokerStars. There was a conflict of interests when the WSOP online software launched and PokerStars withdrew their sponsorship.
