Cristiano Ronaldo joins PokerStars Team
Legendary footballer Cristiano Ronaldo has joined Team PokerStars as a brand ambassador, his role will be to promote the Pokerstars brand and poker to a large new audience.
The Real Madrid and Portuguese national forward was added to Team PokerStars on the 27th May 2105, only a couple weeks after Brazilian and Barcelona football legend Neymar Jr was added the the Team.
The two football superstars join an already impressive sporting team line-up with the likes of Brazil’s Ronaldo, Olympic field hockey captain Fatima Moreira de Melo and tennis legend Rafa Nadal.

Cristiano Ronaldo will surely provide PokerStars a marketable and well recognised face to many Europeans where football has a lively following which can be seen by Ronaldo’s Twitter and Facebook accounts with 35.8 million and 103 million followers respectively.

Cristiano Ronaldo is considered by many as the best player in the world and rated by some in the sport as the greatest of all time, winning world player of the year (FIFA Balon d’Or) three times and two-time Champions League champion and a huge collection of domestic league titles. He became the world’s most expensive player when he moved from Manchester United to Real Madrid in 2009 in a transfer worth $132 million (€94 million/£80 million).
Ronaldo will be promoting PokerStars in advertising campaigns, and is slated to make special appearances at major live poker events and online poker tournaments.
One event planned for later this year will give his fans the chance to win a once-in-a-lifetime meeting with the football hero – and challenge him to a game of poker.
