The Big One for One Drop 2014 – Day 1 has come to an end with some interesting results at the 2014 World Series of Poker where 48 players started out on Day 1.

Poker pros have realized that this life-changing million dollar buy-in event could boost their career earnings as it did for Antonio Esfandiari in the 2012 Big One for One Drop.

Day 1 saw the eliminations of 11 players who will not get any returns on their million dollar investment into the poker tournament most notably: Vanessa Selbst, Brian Rast and Jason Mercier.

The great thing about this event is that it is a charity tournament with 11% of the buy-ins being donated to Guy Laliberté’s One Drop Organization.

The current top 5 positions include: chip leader Sam Trickett, Tom Hall, Phil Ivey, Daniel Colman and title defender Antonio Esfandiari.

The 2014 World Series of Poker starts on Tuesday, 27th May and celebrates it’s 10 year anniversary at the Rio Casino.

Major events in the 2014 WSOP series include: $10 million guaranteed first place prize for Main Event and Million dollar buy-in event Big One for One Drop.

The biggest live poker tournament series offers sixty-five bracelet events scheduled at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino from 27 May until 14 July, 2014.
