WSOP Player of the Year 2016 Jason Mercier tops the leaderboard at the halfway point of the World Series of Poker having won two bracelets from four final table appearances and cashing five times.
He currently tops the 2016 WSOP POY standings with a 262.7 point lead on Ryan Laplante who is just a few points ahead of multi-bracelet winner Ian Johns.
Mercier’s hot streak has earned him a total of $907,818 from his five WSOP cashes. This is only half the amount of what he could get from his $1.8 million three bracelet prop-bet with Vanessa Selbst.
His sheer determination to win three WSOP bracelets this year will no doubt keep him on top of the leaderboard for the rest of the series if he continues on this sick run.
Jason Mercier WSOP 2016 wins 4th Bracelet and title of his career and doesn’t plan on stopping till he win at least three WSOP bracelets at the 2016 World Series of Poker.
Mercier won the $10,000 2-7 Draw Lowball Championship event earning $273,335 and claims he got more than the first place prize from a bracelet earning side-bet he had with friends.
His goal is to win a side-bet that he has with Vanessa Selbst in which he is required to earn three WSOP bracelets in 2016 to score a massive payout. Having bagged his first bracelet fairly early into the series he is determined to take-down two more events to win the prop-bet.
The Big One for One Drop 2014 – Day 1 has come to an end with some interesting results at the 2014 World Series of Poker where 48 players started out on Day 1.
Day 1 saw the eliminations of 11 players who will not get any returns on their million dollar investment into the poker tournament most notably: Vanessa Selbst, Brian Rast and Jason Mercier.
The great thing about this event is that it is a charity tournament with 11% of the buy-ins being donated to Guy Laliberté’s One Drop Organization.
The current top 5 positions include: chip leader Sam Trickett, Tom Hall, Phil Ivey, Daniel Colman and title defender Antonio Esfandiari.
