WSOP 2010The WSOP 2010 main event winner is Jonathan Duhamel, the first Canadian to win a main event. The PokerStars player now joins the team of PokerStars bracelet winners which include Chris Moneymaker, Greg Raymer, Joe Hachem, Peter Eastgate and Joe Cada.

On Saturday the November Nine played 11 hours until two players remained Jonathan Duhamel and John Racener, they played heads-up on Monday night to determine the 2010 WSOP main event champion.

Duhamel had a 6-1 chip lead on Racener going into the Heads-up match and finally won the WSOP bracelet and main event title for 2010.

WSOP 2012The WSOP 2010 November Nine is set in stone after a tiresome 5 hours and 45 minutes of play till Brandon Steven was eliminated in 10th place. Play will resume in November with the final table battling it out to determine the 2010 WSOP main event champion.

The WSOP 2010 ESPN TV schedule has been announced and you can watch the main event weekly episodes starting from 10 August 2010 leading up to the final table on 9th November.

The November Nine are Jonathan Duhamel, John Dolan, Joseph Cheong, John Racener, Matthew Jarvis, Filippo Candio, Michael Mizrachi, Soi Nguyen and Jason Senti.

WSOP 2012The WSOP 2010 Main Event is officially the 2nd biggest live poker tournament of all time beating last years attendance of 6,494 players registered. The final figures have not yet been calculated but so far there have been more players registered than last years event, the worldwide rescission seems to have not affected the main event registration.

The biggest attendance was recorded at the 2006 WSOP which had 8,773 players entering the main event, the biggest live poker event in the world. That year the prize pool was a staggering $82,512,162 and the event was won by Jamie Gold who won more than $12 million for his first place finish.

Update – 7,319 players registered for this years main event making the total prize pool $68,798,600

Prop Bets are very common amongst top Poker Pros, this year one of the biggest prop bets at the WSOP 2010 is on Tom Dwan “Durrrr” not winning a 2010 WSOP bracelet. Many pros including Mike Matusow (Durrrr’s Full Tilt Poker team mate) and Daniel Negreanu Poker Stars had placed large bets on this, an estimated $9 million in bets.

When Durrrr made the final table of the WSOP event #11 there was a bit of tension at the Rio Casino with many players hoping that Tom Dwan would not succeed. The fear of losing millions grew stronger as Durrrr was heads-up with New Zealand player Simon Watt.
