elky wins wsop braceletPokerStars Bertrand Grospellier ElkY has won his first WSOP bracelet in event #21 Seven-Card Stud World Championship, this was the first time Elky had ever played in a 7 Card Stud tournament. The PokerStars French Pro has already won an EPT and WPT title and more than $7 million in tournament earnings in his career but the WSOP bracelet is one of the biggest accomplishments in poker.

Elky was also a pro gamer on the StarCraft Team who then focused his attention to online poker and then live poker and become a member of Team PokerStars Pros.

The first place prize was $331,639 although winning a WSOP bracelet is worth far more to ElkY than the prize money.

2008 wsop main event braceletPeter Eastgate, 2008 World Series of Poker Main Event winner has decided to sell his WSOP bracelet on EBay, all profits from the sale will be given to UNICEF a charity organization. So far there have been 32 bids which have increased the opening bid from $16k to $41k. Tony G is one of the bidders who claims he wants the bracelet for his dog, Zasko.

A few months back Peter Eastgate announced his retirement from the poker circuit due to lack of motivation, I suppose it is a great move in a way to quit while you are ahead with more than $9 million won for his first place win. This week Eastgate shocked the poker industry again with his intent to sell his 2008 WSOP main event bracelet, one of the biggest symbols of achievement in poker.

WSOP 2010The WSOP 2010 main event winner is Jonathan Duhamel, the first Canadian to win a main event. The PokerStars player now joins the team of PokerStars bracelet winners which include Chris Moneymaker, Greg Raymer, Joe Hachem, Peter Eastgate and Joe Cada.

On Saturday the November Nine played 11 hours until two players remained Jonathan Duhamel and John Racener, they played heads-up on Monday night to determine the 2010 WSOP main event champion.

Duhamel had a 6-1 chip lead on Racener going into the Heads-up match and finally won the WSOP bracelet and main event title for 2010.

World Series of Poker EuropeThe 2010 WSOPE High-Roller Heads-Up Championship continues today with only four players remaining in the event, Gus Hansen vs Andrew Feldman and Jim Collopy vs Ram Vaswani.

The remaining players will be completing for the title and a WSOP bracelet, this may be a first bracelet win for Full Tilt Poker pro Gus Hansen who has made it so far against a playing field of 103 which included some big names such as Daniel Negreanu, Huck Seed, Howard Lederer, Phil Ivey, Chris Ferguson, Phil Ivey, Tom Dwan and Phil Hellmuth.

The 2010 World Series of Poker Europe main event has already began with two days of late registration at the Casino at the Empire in London.

Phil Laak wins WSOPE eventPhil Laak has won his first WSOP bracelet in the opening event of the WSOPE, Laak has achieved almost everything in poker but was lacking a bracelet win. Phil Laak wins WSOPE event, he cashed more than £170,000 for his first place win in the 2010 World Series of Poker Europe event #1 in London beating Andrew Pantling who has chip leader for most of the tournament.

With his arm still in a cast from his recent ATV accident where he almost lost his eye and broke several bones, Laak has a new out look on life since his accident, his red mohawk is something he always wanted to have, he also plans to learn how to play blues on the piano.

Some might think the Unabomber hit his head really hard in the crash or he is going through a midlife crisis one thing is certain it sure has not affected his poker game.
