USA Poker players will not be able to sign-up for a new Carbon Poker account over the next few weeks. Since Black Friday CarbonPoker and other Merge Network poker rooms have experienced a large sum of US players joining the network.
This temporary ban on USA players will not affect players who have already signed up, CarbonPoker are battling to cope with the amount of new players signing up, the network has gained a 76% increase in traffic within the first month following the poker room indictments.
CarbonPoker decision was made in the best interest of the players so they can still offer support and services to the thousands of new players who have signed up. Carbon Poker will continue to accept new USA Poker players after a 4-6 week waiting period while they find ways to best deal with the surge in poker traffic.
In a rather unexpected turn of events, poker legend Phil Ivey has announced that he will not be participating in the 2011 World Series of Poker and has taken legal action against Tiltware owner of Full Tilt Poker a move that no one would have anticipated seeing the two had such a good relationship in the past prior to the US Poker room closures and black Friday.
It seems that Phil Ivey has reached breaking point about payment delays from FullTiltPoker to their USA based players. Full Tilt Poker recently announced that they are raising capital to pay back their USA players their outstanding balances prompting Phil Ivey to file a lawsuit against Full Tilt Poker.
This is rather bad news for the Full Tilt brand while on the other hand FullTilt’s rivals are probably loving the news and hoping that several other Full Tilt Poker Pros follow Ivey’s lead and sue FullTilt Poker.

Last week the Legendary DoylesRoom.com was seized by the FBI in another effort to prevent USA Poker players from playing poker online. This may well be the end of the popular online poker room which players have supported since 2004.
The online poker room was endorsed by Doyle Brunson who is World Renowned as The Godfather of Poker, Doyle Brunson also known as Texas Dolly stepped down as the Doyles Room representative just a week before the FBI seized the domain name.
While so many rumors have been circulating throughout the years that Doyle Brunson is dead, it certainly seems that in this case DoylesRoom is Dead. R.I.P

No major changes thus far in regard to the USA poker ban with all the big rooms still closed to the US market but some rather interesting developments have evolved during the course of this week.
UB/AP have now reached an agreement with the US government in which the US Attorney’s Office has agreed to provide all necessary assurances that third parties may work with Absolute Poker to facilitate the return of funds, currently held by third party processors, to players located in the US. However many in the know are somewhat skeptical that UB/AP have enough funds to make the payments to all their US based players.
US Attorney Preet Bharara confirmed that an agreement had been struck between the US government and Absolute Poker “Absolute Poker of Costa Rica agreed to return funds owed to U.S. customers and prohibit deposits of American players.”
Absolute Poker has not requested the return of their seized domain names in www.absolutepoker.com, www.ultimatebet.com or www.ub.com. Both Pokerstars and FullTilt Poker were returned their .com domain names as part of the deal with the US DOJ.
After nearly a month since the US poker ban known as “Black Friday”, FullTilt Poker and UB/Absolute Poker are in the same position since the USA poker room closures in that neither of them offer their gaming services to the US market and both sites have failed to repay their US players their outstanding balances to date.
PokerStars on the other hand seem to be rapidly gaining trust amongst non-US players as they have overcome the payment hurdle, the main reason they could do so is because the player funds are held separately from the main PokerStars account which is enforced by their licensing agreement with the Isle of Man as such PokerStars have already begun paying back the owed money to their former US players.
