Durrrr Challenge slows down
The Durrrr Challenge seems to have faded with Durrrr currently ahead of Patrik Antonius by $140,380.00 having played 4,178 hands of the 50 000 scheduled for the event consisting of 6 total sessions taking 13 hours 12 minutes to date.
The slow down comes as a result of Durrrr taking a beating in 2009, he is currently losing approximately 4 million dollars this year at Full Tilt Poker with a recent losses over last weekend against Phil Ivey who got the better of “Durrrr” while playing two tables at FullTilt Poker’s $500/$1000 Pot Limit Omaha plus an additional 2 tables of $500/$1000 H.A (Hold’em, Omaha High), Phil Ivey managed to build chip stacks of $2 million dollars over the four deep stacked tables with Durrrr holding $1 million.

One can only assume that Tom Dwan is in a slight spot of bother having taken such a big knock this year so far and we are sure to see him attempt a recovery by playing on high stakes poker tables with limits around $500/$1000 instead of the current challenge event plus with the World Series of Poker 2009 around the corner it will be difficult for the two professional poker players to take time out of their busy schedules to play the Durrrr Challenge in addition to the fact that the remaining 45,822 may take some time to conclude at the current rate it would require a further 66 sessions and would take another 144 hours and 46 minutes to complete.
The Durrrr Challenge was created by Tom Dwan a.k.a Durrrr he challenged poker players around the globe appart from Phil Galfond “OMGClayAiken” to a poker contest in which he would bet $1,5 million against $500,000 of anyone else willing to take him on playing four $200/$400 heads up tables consecutively over 50,000 poker hands. Who ever won after the 50,000 hands would win the side bet money plus any other funds they had won during the contest.
Patrik Antonius was first to take up the challenge against Durrrr.
